Goodbye Pastor Mark

IMG_1435

We've been going to Trinity Bible Church for about 3 years now. This past Sunday was the senior pastor Mark Benadom's last day before becoming pastor of Park Springs Bible Church in Arlington, Texas. The service was a long tribute (it didn't feel long) that included jokes, a funny video with a Blues Brothers impression, the pastor's last sermon, the obligatory photo montage with Michael W. Smith's Friends are Friends Forever, and teary personal goodbyes to/from all of the pastor's family members.

After the service, there was a picnic outside on the church lawn. It was another beautiful spring afternoon. Keith didn't bring a hat and quickly was moving a couple tables into the shade for us to sit at.

Ok. So, you remember Keith's genuine smile at Tyler's birthday because he had his Pepsi? That I kind of understand. I mean, this is the man who would come home after working in the hot sun in the summer and say he'd drank four 64 ounce Big Gulps (without visiting any rest rooms). But, applesauce? Seriously?

Emma smiled while holding the water bottle and was grumpy without it. So, you get the water bottle picture. I'm noticing a trend...

Justin was the photographer this afternoon. I made him take pictures of our friends...

Justin didn't get a picture of everyone. Jim and Gail were also sitting at our table. Helen and Elvern were at the picnic too.

No distance of place or lapse of time can lessen the friendship of those who are thoroughly persuaded of each other's worth.
