Pop was Leah's cheerleader, always encouraging her and telling her she could do anything (she can). He went to softball games, basketball games, school programs. He told her that she'd be a great sportscaster.
Pop went to Justin's baseball games, football games, and Grandparents' day at the school. Justin fondly remembers watching Transformers with Pop. It was after he got his CPAP machine, and it was the first movie that Justin remembers that Pop watched all the way through without a little cat nap.
Today is the last of the 'firsts': we've already had our first Easter, first birthday, first Christmas without Pop. Now, its been one year. I miss Pop.
Emma tonight got to go to see Lion King (the play) at Gammage with Grams. It was Grams' Christmas gift to Emma. I think it is a great way to add joy to a bittersweet day.
Death leaves a heartache no one can heal,
love leaves a memory no one can steal.
