Even with the boys heading up north in the new trailer to do some camping (just for Saturday night), Emma had a few of her closest friends over to celebrate her 14th birthday. The girls had a good time: giggling, telling stories, laughing, late night talk sessions. Who needs sleep?
Remember when life was that simple?
Its hard to believe that she is 14. Time goes by way to fast, for it was just last week that she was born and just a couple of days ago that she started school.
And, finally, after having to postpone having family come over last weekend since she was feeling sick, we were able to have family over to celebrate too. And if Zella is coming, then the Littlest Pet Shop is coming out too.
Keith, as always, did a great job on the food - grilling up hamburgers, hot dogs and some chicken. And the sides were from Costco so that was quick and easy.
The cake was put into the freezer last week so that it would keep and its yumminess was not hindered in the slightest. We usually throw away the left over cake (so that I don't eat the rest of it the next week) but this chocolate cake (with chocolate shavings on the sides) is worth keeping so it may go back into the freezer for another special occasion. Another food item from Costco and I highly recommend it!
Happy Birthday Emma!
