Daffodils in Waiting

IMG_1789

Sadly, the daffodils didn't stay pretty very long. In fact, they were dying very next day. Mom told me that you're supposed to put ice on/near the plants to keep them alive but I found that out way too late. Since I want to replant the bulbs next year, I let them die back on their own. A little bit of an ugly stage, but I suppose we all have an ugly stage.

Saturday, the plants were fully dead and gathering fruit flies in the house. Not a happy thing for the kitchen. I cleaned them up and put them in a brown paper bag. I found a nice, dry place for them to rest until next Spring.

I've already got the reminder in my phone so I don't forget about them.

And, just so I don't forget where I've hid them (cuz that is not just a possibility... that is reality), I thought I'd leave a little reminder for myself. You'll help me remember where they are, won't you? I knew I could count on you.
Faith sees a beautiful blossom in a bulb,
a lovely garden in a seed,
and a giant oak in an acorn.
