Easter Egg Hunt and other Easter traditions

IMG_1732

I think Grams gets a jumpy each year at Easter. Its one of those traditions that I think the kids really love.

We are now "storing" a jumpy for a friend which means we get to use it at family functions. Uncle Kevin brought extra-large beach balls and the stage was set for lots of fun. Those on the outside were throwing the beach balls into the jumpy through holes in the top.

Those on the inside were throwing them back out. All were having fun.

Emma and Justin were on opposite sides of the jumpy throwing the beach balls back inside.

But enough fun. We've got some serious egg hiding to do...

This year, we had only one kiddo over the age of 4 hunting for eggs, so there were quite a few eggs hidden in plain sight. Justin was has now joined the ranks of the official Easter Egg Hiders (we're still waiting for the bunny ears).

No one counted how many eggs were hidden, but luckily there was nothing perishable or meltable or stinky inside!

Those that were going to be hunting were waiting inside. But you can't keep them in forever...

They were ready to hunt for Easter eggs!

Chase is always a quick one. He's already got an egg in his basket and he's barely out the door.

Don't you just love the light in London's hair? It makes me want to be barefoot in a sundress myself.

Presley may be the youngest, but she was not going to be left behind.

Tyler was all over the yard gathering eggs.

One Easter tradition was missing this year (and last year, now that I think about it). Papa always had a scheme for paying the egg hunt participants. The amounts changed each year, but each egg color was worth a certain amount. The kids would bring the eggs that they found to Papa and he would count and calculate out how much was due. It makes me happy just to think of him figuring up how much change to give his grandchildren - he would have loved doing the same for his great-grandchildren.

Before beginning a Hunt, it is wise to ask someone what you are looking for before you begin looking for it.
