Warmth

One of my favorite parts of our very short and mild winters here in the desert . . .

. . . are the few times that we get to have a fire in our cast iron, wood burning stove. I love curling up with my knitting and watching tv on the weekends or in the evening, warmed by the fire.

Tomorrow, my fire-tending hubby will be going into hospital tomorrow for back surgery.

This is his second time. The first time was 7 years ago {almost exactly} and it was quite successful, so I am not too worried about this time around.

Except for this . . .

 . . . will this mean there will be fewer fires kindled 

before the Spring heat arrives?

I have a microwave fireplace in my house. The other night I laid down in front of the fire for the evening in two minutes.
