Going Out to Dinner

Keith had just bought me a new Tom-tom, so we thought we'd go out to eat.

And by "out," I really mean Out.

So, we said good-bye to Justin {who had commitments} and dragged Emma along {because the computer is not a commitment}. We packed up the car with snacks. I grabbed my camera. We were ready.

The desert was so green. It was really amazing how green everything was.

We thought this fake rock was funny. Certainly prettier that a plain cement barrier to hold back rocks, etc. but still a little cheesy.

Before we knew it, we were seeing bushes and not just desert plants.

And then, boom, pine trees!

We drove towards this cloud all afternoon.

The Mogollon Rim. {sigh} Sweet relief from the heat of the desert.

It felt so good to be driving among the pines.

We never seemed to get any closer to this cloud. It was always way far away from us, but still beautiful.

We stopped in Forest Lakes for dinner. Best Prime Rib Ever.

It was nice to get out of the heat for a while, even if we had to turn right around and come back.
