Anniversary Trip to San Fran {Part III}

I know. I know. It's been months since I've posted on the trip and you already know we got home. Not much suspense there.

But, we did drive by the beach on the way home...

First, though, we said good-bye to the city.

The tom-tom wanted us to go the straight and narrow home. But, we had other plans, so we drove around in circles and took the wrong way on one way streets until we finally found our way back on the highway that we took into the city which eventually lead us out of the city into the beautiful countryside.

Ok. This is all I want. A farm. A meadow. A barn. The only thing missing is sheep...

And before we knew it, we were back to the beach again. Yay!

This is not the way for those who want to "make time"

Only in America! Farming the unused beaches. You don't see that in Rocky Point.

We were stopped here for maybe two or three times. It was a construction zone where there was only one lane open for both ways of traffic. And when it was our turn and we got through to see how many cars were waiting on the other side, we were shocked. It went on and on and on and on. It would have taken hours if you were going the other way. But, at least you had the view of the sunset {for a little while longer}.

The sun was going down and instead of taking more pictures, I decided to capture the ocean in video as we were driving along.

After the sun went down, there was no reason to continue driving alongside the beach, especially since it would take so long to drive a mere 10 miles. So we tried to get back on the 101 as quickly as possible.

The next day, we drove towards the mountains, but they are not as picturesque as the ocean and since we are months away from the actual drive, I'll spare you the details. You already know the finale - we arrived home, safe and sound.

Asking is the beginning of receiving.
Make sure you don't go to the ocean with a teaspoon.
At least take a bucket so the kids won't laugh at you.
