Stay-cation

Friday, the hubs and me had ourselves a little stay-cation in our side yard underneath my favorite mulberry tree.

We didn't go anywhere because we really didn't have time to plan and we had to get out of our bedroom because, well, let me get to that in a minute.

First, let me show you the state of our master bathroom.

As you can see, the bathroom is in the remodeling stage. Has been for the last 13 years {Yes, 13 years}. Demolition is fun, but actually building something where the old bathroom used to be, not so much.

And, then the bathroom fund was spent on a 'business venture'.

And, we didn't want my Dad to get all the glory for his 8 year bathroom remodel.

But, now that we have broken the record and put it so far out of reach that no one in their right mind would ever try to break it, we figured we'd go ahead and finish the bathroom.

Well, that, and the hail storm last year was really a boon to Keith's A/C business.

So, for the past 3 or 4 days, we've had our next door neighbor Frank (who does kitchens and baths) over with his guys, working in our bathroom. There has been lots of banging and other strange noises coming from the bathroom that have been music to my ears!

Frank wanted to get to work early Saturday morning. And, y'all know I don't do early. So, stay-cation in the side yard!

Who ever thought that this day would ever come? I mean, really. I know, I had my doubts.

So, 13 years. Who won the family pool?

A vacation is having nothing to do and all day to do it in.
